This course is hands on and you will be making and developing websites. It is also instructor lead through out the duration of the program which gives students lots of opportunity with instructors.

This program can be taken Full Time or Part Time (customized schedule)
- Full Time: Monday-Friday (11 weeks) 9:00am-2:30pm (300 Hours total classroom time with Instructor)
- Part Time: Schedule to be determined with each student and is flexible Monday-Friday including weekends and Evenings!
This 11-week full-time course is a hands-on experience. Students will be trained by industry leaders who have extensive real-world knowledge creating websites that are well designed, get found in search engines and are engaging for clients and site users. You will gain expert knowledge of designing websites using professional standards like Adobe Photoshop, Fireworks and Illustrator. Gain understanding of web standards via XHTML, HTML5, CSS, Dreamweaver (a full web production suite for development of websites) and content management systems like Drupal & WordPress. JQuery will be taught to implement scripts into pages in order to have lightbox and animations. And to top if off, you’ll get insights into Search Engine Optimization (How to get found on Google) and Social Media tactics using sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin and how to navigate the online world for resources, jobs, or community engagement in the numerous social web sites.
Project Management will be touched upon to effectively manage and trouble shoot some of the most common issues.
Wireframing will be reviewed in order to help effectively plan out your website.
A Drupal introduction is included to get you started. The instructors will show you where to get Drupal, download, install and how to get moving with the system. Once the Drupal development Diploma is completed after this progrm a person would be able to develop for government, educational or business purposes to create almost any type of website.
A Full Project Week is included for students to work on their website with help from instructors. This is a great time to put all your skills to the test in a supervised environment where you can get help, ask questions, and work away competing your first website.
While this course can be paired with Q College’s Drupal Open Source Development & e-commerce Program (making up a Diploma qualification), on its own it will provide a strong overall knowledge of the internet’s core fundamental abilities, allowing students to find work in their area of expertise.
