StarFish Medical is Canada’s premier medical device development group with a staff of 60+ and a strong technical team of product development professionals who work on device design projects for North American and International customers. StarFish is currently looking to fill a 3-4 month Industrial Design internship in Victoria beginning in September through to December 2017. This would be ideal for a candidate who is either working towards a degree in Industrial Design from an accredited institution or has completed their studies and requires an internship to complete their degree.

We are looking for an individual who strives to be the best at everything they do. This individual will not be afraid to tackle sophisticated problems whether they are in hardware or software development.
Designers at StarFish are given a range of opportunities to showcase their skills, from designing hard goods such as an instrument cart to be used in surgery to a complex GUI for a next generation handheld screening device. This individual will be part of a multi‐disciplinary team of experts that are the top of their fields and will be treated with an equal seat at the development table.
- The chosen candidate shall have:
- Excellent sketching and ideation skills
- Strong visual and presentation skills
- Technical knowledge of materials and processes
- Exceptional knowledge of the digital world including information architecture, interaction and visual design of user interfaces
- Good knowledge of CAD, preferably SolidWorks
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator
