Andrew Macklin
Andrew joined Q College shortly after gaining his Canadian Permanent Residency and deciding to settle in fair Victoria. The worlds of creativity and education have always shared a place of highest regard for Andrew, as they are routes for people to find and attain the best of themselves.
Andrew has moved in educational circles for most of his life, having completed a Degree in Fine Art and well as studying advertising in South Africa. He began training others in art and eventually in creative software packages in the early days of the multimedia boom, and worked his way to being Macromedia and Adobe certified and managing a leading digital design training company in Cape Town.
In his private time he enjoys creating illustrations and experimental art, using both traditional media and the ever-present computer, or exploring the beauty of British Columbia with his super-creative wife. Keen to experience many of the cultural events he missed out on his earlier days, he is often off to see concerts in Vancouver while ensuring his 4 cats are always very well fed. Or, he’s just shopping (probably for cat food).
